Congratulations on Yu’s acceptance to the Knox School! Yu has worked hard to achieve the many accomplishments that impressed the admissions committee, resulting in her admission to our fine school. As a parent of two children educated at independent schools, I know the dedication and sacrifices often made by parents to help children develop as students and responsible citizens. You are to be commended for your part in Yu’s acceptance to Knox.
Because we are a day and boarding school, we need the full cooperation of the parents in order for us to do our job effectively. This support varies from honoring commitments such as having your child arrive at school on time, to arranging to have Yu spend three Saturdays with the school for special programs, to supporting the school policies and administrative decisions as outlined in the Student – Parent Handbook. What we do here is unique and I am confident that together we can continue the family-like atmosphere that is the hallmark of the Knox experience.
I will be happy to answer any questions that you may have about our small school. It is my sincere hope that you will indeed decide to have your family become a members of the Knox community. Please note the due date to return your contract is August 15, 2008. All of us at Knox, including Yu’s future friends and classmates, look forward to welcoming you in September.
